Pearl & Simon ~ Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay & Koi Palace

I'm so glad I got to work with Pearl for her wedding to Simon at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay and reception at Koi Palace. She's super sweet and was so excited to have her hair styled and makeup done professionally because she normally doesn't wear makeup at all. Pearl shed happy tears at her trial session when she saw herself in makeup for the first time. As an artist, there's no better satisfaction than having your client love your work. Even after a windy ceremony and photo session in Half Moon Bay and a wild dance into the night time reception, Pearl's hairstyle and makeup lasted well until the end of the wedding. Thanks to a fabulous team of vendors for making this wedding happen.

Product Highlight - Paul & Joe

I'm absolutely in awe of the new Paul & Joe Summer 2012 Makeup Collection - Midsummer Nights. This new collection to me is like the magical juice from Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream. The magical juice derives from a flower called "love-in-idelness", which when applied to a person's eyelids while sleeping makes the person fall in love with the first thing she sees upon awakening. The products and colors from this collection truly calls for love at first sight. I've been a long time fan of Paul & Joe Cosmetics and my absolutely favorite product is their Beaute Lipstick #7 Rose Potpourri, it is a constant staple in my makeup bag!

Mastering the Eyeliner

If I had to choose one makeup product to use for life, what would it be? Foundation? Concealer? Lipgloss?  Although these are all oh so important to creating a beautiful face, my top pick would definitely be eyeliner. We often hear the eyes are the window to our soul, I truly believe that accentuating the eyes is the number one makeup skill every girl should possess.
Eyeliners come in pencil, crayon, gel, cream and powder forms, how do we choose what works best for us? Here's a little guideline when choosing eyeliner. Pencils and crayons create a softer look while gels and creams can create a definite line with longer lasting power. I usually like to use a crayon liner for everyday and gel liner for night time. For special occasions or my bridal clients, I usually stick to gel or cream liners. Another great liner that comes in handy is a white eyeliner, when used to line the bottom waterline, it brightens the eye instantly. I also love to use brown eyeshadow as eyeliner when I want to create an even softer look for spring time.  The best way to mastering the eyeliner is practice, practice, practice! The more you practice, the better you will understand your eye shape and thus draw a perfect eye line/
