I've been busily working on helping my next year brides decide on their wedding day hairstyles and makeup.  Esther will be my bride next March marrying at the Rosewood Sand Hill. 

Esther opted for a very natural look with a loose up do and side swept bangs.

Summer Love at Mountain Terrace

This cute wedding at Mountain Terrace was so much fun to work at not only because the bride Leslie was super sweet, but I also got to work with Augie Chang Photography and Andrew Hsu of Studio MSV again after our last great wedding at Nestldown which I have yet to blog about.
Leslie was most concern about accentuating her eyes and shaping them more round than her natural almond shaped eyes. I gave them a more rounded look by applying thicker liner in the middle of her lid and gave her longer lashes in the middle instead of having the longer lashes on the end which creates a flare, cat eye look.  While waiting for the fabulous photos from Augie, I will post a few that I took with my iPhone.

Fall Wedding at the Thomas Fogarty Winery

Fall weddings at the Thomas Fogarty Winery are so romantic, I'm fortunate to have styled for 6 brides at the winery this year.  Here's one with a great fall theme. While I wait for the beautiful photos from the photographer, I will post some that I took with my own camera. Fang Fang's wedding day started with makeup and hairstyling at the Sofitel Hotel in Redwood City. Then, we headed to Thomas Fogarty where Fang Fang changed into her gown and took photos with her family who traveled all the way from Indonesia.  The wedding day flowed seamlessly thanks to wedding planner Janece Shellooe of Every Elegant Detail. And I was so impressed with the beautiful arrangements designed by Leighsa Montrose of Branch Out Floral and Event Design.

Annick & Von's Napa Engagement Session

Annick & Von reside in New York City but have decided to have their destination wedding at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay this coming weekend.  I'm so excited to be styling her bridal party but for now, I'd like to share some engagement photos that I styled for Annick. Stay Chic This Fall ~ Five Beauty Items

Finally, the weather has been warming up as we step into the last days of summer.  Before fall is officially here, I'd like to share 5 beauty items that will keep you rockin' in style when it cools down.  I can't stress enough how important it is to have a great skin care regimen along with products that work. Because nothing looks better than FLAWLESS skin. Two beauty items that I always keep in my bag? Blush and lip gloss. I'm loving Chantecaille's Poudre de Perle, luminous cheek color that arrives in its own brush. It delivers the perfect amount of color and cast a beautiful glow, best thing is not having to carry a separate brush. I'm still searching for my favorite lip color for fall but I know it will be a dusty rose color.

JBeautique Latest Editorial Feature~the Knot Magazine

I was super excited to learn of our latest editorial feature in the newest issue of the Knot Northern California Magazine. I got to work with many wonderful vendors for this lovely couple at the beautiful Villa Montalvo including Nancy Liu Chin Designs, Componere Fine Catering, Hello Lucky Stationery, Geoff White Photography and Hartmann Studios.

Berwick Park, Gatherings, Intercontinental Monterey The Clement Wedding: MJ AND Stefan

It was such an amazing experience working alongside Jay Tsai and his team for MJ and Stefan's wedding in Monterey.  When MJ first came for her trial session, she told me the usual makeup that she uses daily and opted for a very natural look.  She's used to using cooler tones such as blue eyeshadows and no eyeliner.  I showed her how to line her eyes correctly and introduced her to warmer shades like bronze, copper and peach.  I taught her that if applied correctly, even Asian eyes can wear warmer shades without having a swollen eyes look.  She loved the result and decided to use those tones for her wedding day look.  MJ was surprised and happy that even after she teared at the tea ceremony, minimal touch up was needed and her curls lasted all day even through the ceremony by the windy seaside. 

After Wedding Shoot - Lillian & Anthony

This was a very special wedding shoot for me because the bride is one of my best friends who is like a little sister to me.  We met in Cosmetology school in 2002 and shared many ups and downs through the years.  So when she asked me to style her for wedding day in May and after shoot in July, I couldn't be more honored and happy.  I love these images taken by the awesome Chung Li of Chung Li Photography.  From the photos, you can't tell that the groom was actually sick that day, his smile was so genuine even when he wasn't feeling well!  That's the power of love!

Trial Session - Jennifer

Jennifer will be marrying at Mountain Winery in October.  The only makeup she ever wears is lipgloss so she wanted a very natural barely there look!  The trial was a fun experience for her and she loved the result.  She has gotten a very bad skin allergic reaction to a spray tanned at a tanning salon and is undergoing medication treatment.  I hope she will be fully recovered by her wedding date.

Trial Session-Kayoko

Kayoko will be marrying in August at Thomas Fogerty Winery.  She has remotely planned her entire wedding from Japan in the past year.  She is super sweet and I am so glad she has chosen me to be her stylist for her wedding day.  She met her fiance Mike at UCLA while she was attending as a student and he was the professor's aide.  I love cross cultural weddings and can't wait to see all the cultural elements on their wedding day.
